About…

My philosophy, Practice & Japanese Acupuncture

In my travels in Japan I became familiar with the wonderful Japanese concept of “Genki”. Genki is about cultivating a sense of the spirit of life, health, energy (ki) and vitality. It’s the energy that flows through everything, in and around the body linking all parts and functions. My clinical work is influenced by this view.

Treatments typically incorporate the use of gentle and highly effective techniques of Japanese acupuncture combined with musculoskeletal acupuncture, moxibustion (heat therapy), manual therapies (massage and cupping), and nutritional herbs and traditional herbal medicine.

I also offer special treatments using Paediatric Shonishin Acupuncture which involves gentle massage, scraping and non-penetrative acupuncture treatment and is used specifically with babies, toddlers, young children and the elderly and frail.

My post-graduate studies have also included extensive and regular study with traditional master practitioners in Australia, Japan and overseas. I have had a long term involvement since 2014 in the Post Graduate Oncology Program at both the Royal North Shore Hospital and the Mater Hospital, Sydney.

Kuan Yin Goddess of Healing

We have come full circle…

Earlier this year I began looking for a new home for the practice. It was important for me to stay local and continue to serve the lower north shore community who have supported me for so many years.

In May 2022, Rochelle relocated her practice to the peaceful treatment rooms at Blues Point Practice in McMahons Point, North Sydney.

Twenty or so years ago in 2002, when Rochelle ventured east to Sydney from the west coast she sought out the intuitive and gentle Japanese acupuncturist - Trudy R. Zipf. During the years that followed Rochelle became a regular patient at Trudy’s clinic, and followed her to Blues Point Practice in 2007.
